Innovo Automated Carbon data and Accelerated Decarbonisation with KarbonWise
The UAE-based construction firm partnered with KarbonWise to automate carbon data collection, integrate ESG systems, and deploy AI to close data gaps and accelerate decarbonisation across its regional construction footprint.

Challenge
Building carbon visibility into complex supply chains
Innovo is a leading construction and infrastructure firm in the UAE with expanding operations in the UK. Known for its early adoption of green building certifications, the company wanted to go further, developing a carbon intelligence system that could quantify emissions across suppliers, categories, and project sites.
Facing fragmented legacy systems, data sparsity, and regulatory shifts across the GCC, Innovo partnered with KarbonWise to future-proof its ESG infrastructure.
Innovo’s sustainability ambitions were growing, but systems were holding them back. Data was scattered across platforms like Oracle EHS, legacy energy systems, and supplier files. Scope 3 insights, especially around high-embodied-carbon materials, were sparse or unavailable. Generating audit-ready reports meant weeks of manual work.
“The platform integrates advanced AI features that enhance accuracy and insight. It is intuitive, fast, and adaptable to global standards.” - Muhammad Waseem Akram, ESG & Sustainability Leader, Innovo
Solution
Data aggregation, automated
KarbonWise built connectors to integrate Oracle EHS, energy platforms, and legacy systems. A custom file formatter normalised data from different sources, making ingestion seamless. Innovo’s sustainability team now generates monthly reports with a fraction of the effort, reducing data collection time by 80% across 120+ suppliers.
Emissions data with depth
The Scope 1, 2, and 3 accounting engine provided granular emissions tracking down to the project site, supplier, and material. These insights helped Innovo identify top-emitting suppliers and categories, leading to a pilot green procurement initiative that reduced embedded emissions by 12 per cent.
AI that fills the gaps
KarbonWise deployed a machine learning model trained on construction-specific datasets and regional patterns to estimate missing emission factors. The AI adapted to Innovo’s procurement behaviour and local sourcing challenges, improving reliability where data was incomplete.
Visual insight, real action
Dynamic dashboards displayed emissions by project, supplier, and category. This enabled procurement and operations teams to make informed decisions and take ownership of decarbonisation targets.
Ready for what’s next
Using the compliance-ready reporting engine, Innovo now generates structured, audit-ready outputs in line with ISO 14064 and the GHG Protocol. The new system requires zero manual effort and positions Innovo to stay ahead as disclosure regulations evolve.
“Both the software and the team exceeded expectations. Their support, expertise, and proactive approach made implementation seamless.” - Muhammad Waseem Akram, ESG & Sustainability Leader, Innovo
